It takes a lot for a Chief to actually get fired because of the scrutiny it draws from the council. The Mayor doesn't have the power to control what the Chief does except where it requires approval through the budget and a few other things.

Anyone who was around before Metro remembers when both departments has much better chiefs. They worked for political thug-hugging administrations like Armstrong and Abramson. Even Hamilton never bowed down for political whims anywhere nearly as much as Conrad. Conrad could have told the Mayor no a few times and still kept his job.

Conrad's problem is he's a political animal at heart so he acts like a Deputy Mayor. He should have resigned and ran for office a long time ago.

On Please! Anyone on this dept knows that Conrad and his weak *** Colonels and Majors are absolutely the problem. Weak and zero leadership in any of them. Add in Mayor ******* and his staff of idiots and it blows up this place to where it is now. You are Baltimore? At our rate we will be right behind them if the train is not put back on track. Scandal after scandal there just like here with pedophiles, thieves and everything else right now. Why? Weak leadership from people who don't know what that word means of have ever had the real experience to practice it. It is laughable that colonel Sullivan got that job in Baltimore, but...look at them. Same situation with weak leadership blowing up the city and hiring a milquetoast guy like him to run the operations of the department. Shows there lack of ability to decipher leadership ability just like the boneheads here. Feeling sorry for the newbie guys here who will suffer for years.
