Fischer, Leet offer starkly different pictures of Louisville at debate

Police work is sometimes like making sausage... it ain't pretty at times. The mayor, chief and media would like to create the false impression in it's mostly uninformed residents that police work is all about worthless "feel good" dog and pony shows like Coffee With a Cop or Shop With a Cop or Eat A Donut With a Cop or Look At This Cute New Twitter Hashtag (gnome bandit or goat gate, etc...) or look at what the Community Development Unit has done this week - which is filled with ROD's. See how much these "feel goodies" help when the terrorist group black lies (not a misspelling) matter comes to town looking to create havoc. I'm sure they really care when the public can go to their neighborhood McDonald's to have coffee with a cop. Police work means dealing with thugs who have no respect for anybody or themselves and will do all they can to make themselves out to be the victim. When the public doesn't want to see the reality of actual police work, I'm always reminded of the famous quote from Bill Murray in Ghostbusters... "Kitten, I think what I'm saying is that sometimes s**t happens, someone has to deal with it and who ya gonna call."
