There are multiple sides who create that reality here, led by Democrats ruling through their Machiavellian "divide and conquer" strategy.

1. West end Democrats, including activists and preachers on the Fischer campaign for some of that "free money" Fischer doles out to them every year in one form or another. They turn a blind eye to the realities on the street to satisfy their big egos through photo ops with the Mayor.

2. West end regular people. They've been suckered for decades but waking up to the fact the west end is a h3llhole. They realize police didn't do enough for the last 15 years, thanks mostly to the Mayors and Chiefs.

3. East end Democrats. The aloof Thurston Howell lookalikes like Fischer and Hollander. They pretend to care about the west end by agreeing police are racist, so tax money's "better spent" in the east end on frivolities like Google Fiber and the stadium.

4. South end Democrats. Swing voters, more of whom are hopping OFF the Fischer bandwagon every day.

5. Republicans. They don't like Fischer but more than half of them don't even bother to vote. Their apathy will continue until there's a home invasion on a $500,000 house down the street. For sale sign goes up the next day.

6. Non-voting reality TV watching types who don't know the Vice President's name.

If Leet had more money to run commercials, she could convince everyone but the hard core Democrats to vote for her. It doesn't look like she's got much money at all. Fischer's got plenty because he hands out city money and favors to whoever he wants like candy. He's also got Metro doing campaign events disguised as community policing and city events.

If people in high crime parts of town don't vote or vote for Fischer, then they're asking for the crime. I won't feel sorry for them at all although I will feel sorry for their kids who have to live in a war zone. The same goes for the east and south end where crime's going up faster than in the west end.
