You must have misread. I was referring to other departments not to LMPD re-hires. LMPD's standards are a lot lower than anyone else. It's an employer of last resort.
LMPD command is infamous for not telling other departments the truth about its problem officers like Betts and Corder when they apply. Nobody trusts what you people say anymore. That's why background checks involve much more than a reference check when it's an ex-LMPD officer applying these days.
