Sexton's obviously fronting for Fischer with the line about it interfering with the criminal case. Same excuse they used for the Harvey whitewash. The state auditor and KSP have always run concurrent investigations. Auditor interviews are voluntary and aren't conducted by law enforcement. Cases are only jeopardized when you force someone to talk under penalty of being disciplined or fired.

The lack of transparency walks hand in hand with the corruption. The US Attorney blocked Harvey's interviews because he didn't want his thunder stolen if he decides to charge and also didn't want anyone second guessing a decision to not charge anyone. Fischer and company have used the same excuse to keep the public from finding out how dirty the administration is before election time. It's obstruction of justice even if nobody's going to charge or disbar anyone over it.
