Metro Council president accused of colluding in lawsuit against the city

Game on, just heard the Judge said the trial goes. Councilman James is not scared of them obviously and good for him fir standing up. Every officer on LMPD knows what Conrad is, and finally some people are calling them for it.

Metro Council president testifies he gave mayor proof of LMPD chief's dishonesty

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - In a remarkable court hearing Friday, the president of the Metro Council fought with an attorney representing the city and accused Louisville's police chief of being a liar, testifying he has provided proof to Mayor Greg Fischer. Metro Council President David James testified in an emergency hearing in Jefferson Circuit Court after attorneys for the city filed a motion accusing him of "acting in collusion" with a Louisville police officer who has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the department and city.

James fired back that he provided Fischer with documentation this week so the "mayor could recognize that the chief has not always been truthful and he could reexamine his belief and faith in Chief Conrad being a good chief or not. At one point, James told Ervin he was being untruthful about what the councilman has previously said about the chief.

"Sir, are you accusing me of lying" Ervin asked James, "like you so cavalierly referred to the police chief as a liar?" James responded, "I just said you weren't saying the whole truth." During his testimony Friday, James said Conrad was found to have been untruthful by internal police investigators in 1998, before Fischer appointed him as chief.

James said Conrad had been accused of theft of overtime. James, who is a former LMPD officer, said Conrad belongs on the so-called Brady list.

Where's Homicide? If only they and the commonwealth attorney prosecutor had a pair of balls, maybe they'd charge this guy with manslaughter. It takes brass balls to be the real police.

No way they got all that from public sources. They ALL live in the left wing nut capital of San Francisco or nearby.

So let me get this straight. In today's testimony, the mayor said he was shocked by Harper's comments so the mayor sent Ellen Hessen to tell the chief. The chief then comments on how he should demote Harper. So the three of them have no problem remembering this conversation about a topic that was not that big of a deal but they cannot remember anything about conversations about criminal child abuse allegations against officers.......I think their testimony today speaks volumes about their attempt to cover up terrible issues.

Here's another example of why juries are letting people off for using a gun in a fist fight. It took one punch to make him fall and die. Punched him so hard his teeth went through his lip.

I call bulls--t on the "my finger slipped" story unless there's some other video showing it. If she'd been using her trigger finger to adjust the flashlight, then somebody explain how it would have fired in such a short time frame. If the flashlight were a factor at all, it would be because she was messing with it while her trigger finger was on the trigger. It was a great legal defense though.

Did lack of training lead to an accidental shooting by an LMPD officer?

The most valuable lesson I have learned from the Harper Whistleblower trial:

Majors are handpicked by the chief and serve at the discretion of the chief. That has been said as long as there have been majors. That does not mean the chief can just arbitrarily demote a major without cause. People on the police department think they know everything which is annoying. I have said it for years, just because you serve at the discretion of the chief it does not mean he can just demote you. If that were true, they wouldn't even be in court.

Watching the closing arguments live.....that attorney for the prosecution is terrible! It's like watching a turtle on a treadmill. No wonder the county attorney's office is seen as a joke.

Harper wins lawsuit. The jury just proved how corrupt this city really is. Mayor your a$$ is in for a rough ride the people are getting wise to your lies.
