They think vague standards for officer conduct allows them to interpret them as broadly as possible. In a court of law, vague terms in an agreement are usually interpreted in favor of the party who didn't write those terms.

If you commit a crime, like making threats to beat people up, then it's easy to say it's misconduct. If you simply disparage someone or some thing without, then it's a big gray area and the outcome will probably be the city paying out. They've been attempting to say that any disparaging comment about any minority is a racist statement. The problem with that is there are subgroups within every race and a disparaging remark about a subgroup, like people into loud annoying hip-hop music, isn't automatically racist. Firing someone so you can appease activists who use the race card in every debate is the surest way to an adverse legal outcome.

Just the beginning of a bunch more payouts to officer because of Conrads jumping the gun on suspensions over social media. I hope the asshat breaks the cities bank for his stupidity. Mayor Bikelane needs to wise up and get rid of this fool.
