TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

You are by far the most annoying person I have ever met. You talk entirely too much. You think people see you as smart and knowledgeable when in reality people see you as a narcissist who is prone to rambling. I hate asking you a question because I know in doing so I have to stand there and listen as you go down this endless rabbit hole. You just have to prove how smart you are. I never thought you were that good of a cop. You were painfully lazy and self-centered. Yes, I'm talking about you!

http://www.wdrb.com/story/38124656/5-arrested-on-human-trafficking-charges-by-lmpd-as-part-of-undercover-operation

The TV news keeps calling these johns "human traffickers" with the encouragement of the department. Once again people are blowing their arrests way out of proportion. All it really was is a run of the mill prostitution sting, no different what what Vice has done in any previous year. They arrest the dummies who show up to have sex, which is a legit arrest, but they're not human traffickers.

A real human trafficking bust is when you arrest the people controlling women or children being prostituted against their will, as they did recently in Colorado http://www.kktv.com/content/news/Human-trafficking-suspect-arrested-in-Springs-480540631.html

A new low from the County Attorney. Win at all costs, Machiavelli style.

With experts like him running metro's defense, the civil jury is going to hand them the keys to city hall before it's over.

The east end used to be relatively quiet and safe. Not anymore. This is a direct result of the department taking its eye off the ball for far too long. Too many useless community cops, too much laying down, not enough street patrol and detectives making arrests in the divisions. Too much east end division downsizing to fill vacant west end spots.

Serious question. Does anybody know of any case where an officer has been disciplined for low productivity, or just not having a reasonable amount of stats? I'm not talking about sneaky, behind closed door discipline like details or not getting a specialized spot. I'm talking about the department putting it in writing, discipline for low work production.

"Her explanation was that she accidentally, in attempting to turn on the flashlight that's mounted to the gun, actually pulled the trigger," Wine said

If that's her excuse, then she's very lucky the commonwealth only proposed a single count of second-degree assault and not reckless homicide. I don't buy that there was a lapse in training. Every officer on every department in Kentucky is taught to NOT put your finger on the trigger until you want to shoot. Especially not while fumbling around with a flashlight.

We heard about the cartels in Louisville on LMPD.com long before you heard about them from anyone in command. WE REPORT, YOU DECIDE, FAIR AND BALANCED.

"There are individuals who'd like to say they're associated with the cartel, but I don't want to get into active investigations and where things are," Evans said. "The cartels are looking to influence this region and bring their goods to the region." Evans says it can be difficult to stop the cartels. "If it was easy, it would've been done," he said. "It's a constant struggle."

So much for all the statements about how it's only new guys ****** going to get screwed. If they run out of money, all that legal mumbo jumbo from Andy Beshear and the FOP about inviolable contracts goes into the trash can. Like a wise man once said "No job? No problem. No credit? No problem. No money? PROBLEM"

"Many pension funds for public workers already owe far more in retirement benefits than they have in the bank, and the problem will only grow worse if the economy slows down, according to a report released Thursday.

The study from The Pew Charitable Trusts found that the New Jersey and Kentucky funds are in such perilous shape that they risk running dry. "Even after eight years of economic recovery -- eight straight years of stock market gains -- the public pension plans are more vulnerable than they've ever been to the next recession," researcher Greg Mennis said in an interview.

The report said that even with changes, Kentucky could be in a situation similar to Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Both states have increased state pension contributions and might have to keep them high for decades to come, squeezing out funding for other priorities in the state budget."

This sounds incredibly familiar and explains a lot of the problems plaguing both LMPD and JCPS. The mediocre get put in charge because politicians love a mediocre sycophant. Both the more experienced and the know-little do-little older people usually want to go to less challenging assignments.

""The JCPS seniority system is a fertile garden that encourages mediocrity to flourish," he said. Hudson said that as a "function of the teachers' contract," teachers with more experience are more likely to work at schools with fewer black students. Conversely, teachers with little experience are more likely to work at schools made up of mostly black students, he said."

Only in politically correct liberal dystopian dumpster fires like California are those who shoot robbers considered the bad guy.

SANTA ANA, Calif. -- Police in Southern California say an alleged robber at a fast food restaurant was shot by a customer in the drive-thru lane who fired through a window before speeding off. Santa Ana Police Commander Michael Claborn says the robbery suspect was hospitalized late Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds, but is expected to survive.

Claborn says the customer witnessing the holdup fired several times at the robber, shattering the drive-thru window of Cozy Corner Drive-In. Investigators say the armed customer is now wanted on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Claborn calls the shooter's actions "very dangerous." The Orange County Register reported Sunday that the wounded man could face a robbery charge. He was not identified.

I've been retired for a few years now. It's true what they say. After you're gone, nobody cares what rank you HAD or what good jobs you worked while you were there. The first few years into retirement you are still somewhat connected. After about 2 years you realize you're just Joe Blow Citizen. No favors. I enjoy it tho. Threw rehire offers into trash. I will NEVER police again!!!

Almost 3 1/2 years. That's how long it takes just to get a felony PIU case to a jury. That's exactly why the judges and county attorney conspired to change the court rules so nothing about a case is publicly available. They're all much more comfortable knowing they're free to unleash criminals on society who should be in prison without fear of electoral repercussion, including LMPD's 2 pedophiles, LMPD's serial rapist, and those who shot or killed people because the courts failed to put them in prison in a timely manner.

You'll be hard pressed to find as many empty suits in any other court system. Even the little broke eastern KY courts do a much better job of protecting the public.

Chief Conrad,

You honestly think so many officers have left because of pension reform? I'm sure a lot have, but for you to keep pretending this is the only reason just shows how out of touch you are. Just ask around...you might be surprised how deep the damage really is. Just saying.

Reporters finally figured out the solution. Shrink the department to reduce crime!

Nevermind that the DEA and ATF have come out of their offices to work on busting the drug dealing gangs, including the Mexican cartel "dreamers" that people here are too politically correct to admit even exist. Fewer of them wholesaling drugs = less supply for the violent gun-toting "youth gangs" = fewer drug turf wars.

You can primarily thank Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump for this crime reduction.

""(Attrition) is just massive compared to any year we've had," he said. "The average number was 81 until last year, where we lost 101. This year, we're on course to lose 156." But despite the attrition of officers, Conrad said the LMPD has had success in reducing violent crime rates during that same period. Homicide is down 25 percent over last year, and nonfatal shootings are down by 17 percent.

When asked by reporters whether a reduced number of officers on the street suggests there might not be a link between police manpower and crime reduction, Conrad disagreed.

Green River, WY - A hero truck driver saved the life of a Wyoming State Trooper on Thursday after jumping into a roadside fight. The incident started as Darren Phillips was driving his truck down I-80 near Green River, according to KSL. Phillips was driving east when he saw a Wyoming State Trooper and Dustin Roberts, 36, in a ground fight. The trucker saw the trooper on his back with Roberts on top of him, and Roberts was grabbing the trooper's gun.

Rather than call for help, Phillips knew that he needed to stop and take care of business himself. He stopped his truck in the passing lane and got out to assist. "I put my brakes on, and I jump out and by this time, the trooper is on his back and the guy is on top of him. The trooper saw me running over and as soon as I got up to him, he says, 'He's going for my gun.," Phillips told KSL. "So I just came around behind him and just reached around and put my arm right there and I held it with my other hand and I stood up and I just went back. And as I came back, he just came back with me and just fell right on top of me."

Thanks to Phillips' choke hold, the trooper was able to take Roberts into custody. "I spent 12 years in the Marine Corps and 14 years with the Utah Army National Guard," Phillips told KSL. "I did two tours in Iraq, and I never had to put a choke hold on anyone." The trooper only sustained minor injuries in what could have been a fatal fight.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Ben Schlosser said that Phillips is a hero, and things could have been much worse if Roberts was able to get the trooper's gun. Troopers found 74 pounds of marijuana and cocaine in Roberts' vehicle, and he has been booked into jail, according to Deseret News. "I was just happy to be in the right place at the right time," Phillips told KSL. "Anything I can do for those guys who put their life on the line every day for us, I'll do any time."
