Drunk driver who killed LMPD Detective and a Lexington man sentenced...

Once someone gets charged with DUI the first time, they should be offered 2 options: 1 year in jail with no HIP or parole or put a breath alcohol ignition interlock device on their car for the next 5 years.

It's hypocrisy for the city and the state to promote public alcohol consumption by allowing numerous bars that serve people until they're intoxicated, while also preaching about the evils of DUI. Either you want drunk drivers or you don't. Officers got told to stop watching bar parking lots for drunks and making stops a long time ago. Money speaks louder than ethics or law in Possibility City.

Dozens of people there and no witnesses If anyone's wondering why crime is rampant in the west end, there's your answer. I don't blame it entirely on the people terrified of gang members retalliating. Much of the blame belongs on the poor reputation of this department. There is a high price for hiring in the wrong people to lead a department.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a shooting at a Louisville night club left six people injured.

LMPD detectives tell WDRB they are aware that videos taken inside the club at the time of the shooting are surfacing on social media, and are hopeful that they will help bring in tips. No arrests have been made in the case.

The truth comes out about the Parkland school shooting. Another Obamanation. https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2018/02/28/obama_administration_school_discipline_policy_and_the_parkland_shooting.html

Despite committing a string of arrestable offenses on campus before the Florida school shooting, Nikolas Cruz was able to escape the attention of law enforcement, pass a background check and purchase the weapon he used to slaughter three staff members and 14 fellow students because of Obama administration efforts to make school discipline more lenient.

In 2013, the year before Cruz entered high school, the Broward County school system rewrote its discipline policy to make it much more difficult for administrators to suspend or expel problem students, or for campus police to arrest them for misdemeanors- including some of the crimes Cruz allegedly committed in the years and months leading up to the deadly Feb. 14 shooting at his Fort Lauderdale-area school. The new policy resulted from an Obama administration effort begun in 2011 to keep students in school and improve racial outcomes (timeline here), and came against a backdrop of other efforts to rein in perceived excesses in "zero tolerance" discipline policies, including in Florida.

http://www.wdrb.com/story/37771456/community-activists-gather-at-coles-place-for-prayer-and-discussion-after-saturdays-shooting

All that free ice cream, coffee, cookies, cake, pancakes, balloons, giving away free toys, jaw-jacking at public events has gotten us what exactly? Certainly not a more cooperative community willing to report what they see. "No arrest's have been made in either the Faulkner Gallery or Cole's Place shootings"

All of the so-called community cops sitting downtown and in divisions should be transferred back to the beat or to a detective unit where they might do some good. Then all they'd have to do is train 9th Mobile how to develop sources, put on plainclothes and operate like a real street crimes unit so they could put the missing INTEL in LMINTEL. Homicide's not going to solve a damn thing if there's nobody developing sources before a murder happens.
