Maybe if he drops his lawsuit first. I doubt they'll make anyone chief who's got an active lawsuit against the city.

I tend to believe Leet would look far outside LMPD. She'd be smart to hire a conservative black chief with a good record from a larger department. Being a Republican, the protesters will be out in force calling LMPD racist every chance they get.

They wouldn't tap Harper he is the one challenging them and has exposed them more than anyone else for their mishandling and lies. Plus he is not the lackey puppet the Mayor would want and too much of a cop. Yes he has the support of the council and the community, but that defies the mayor. It's highly doubtful that Harper would do it anyway, not for this mayor.
