Female LMPD officer claims police, city ignored sexual harassment

I realize people think Hibbs is a grandstander but he's just the one responsible for running whats left of all of Flex under another name. They were wrongly stuck with the responsibility of fulfilling the Chief and feds false promises about Operation Trust and LMINTEL. They go on TV periodically to either announce some big gan task force, which doesn't exist, or to take credit for somebody's investigation. The most recent one was the ATF straw buyer case against 5 crips. Newsflash: Arresting 5 thugs for buying guns is a good case for ATF, but is in no form or fashion a major gang task force bust worthy of an elaborate TV news conference. They did the same with some recent arrests from Indiana. A real gang task force bust is arresting 20-50 gang members at a time, or an entire clique, and charging them with organized crime, distribution and guns too. It's not 5 people buying guns.

The sad fact is there is a complete lack of commitment to stopping gangs on the part of multiple agencies, not just LMPD. Everyone's too busy doing what they like to do, whether that's handing out ice cream and cookies, doing white collar fraud cases from 9 to 5, or sitting behind the computer at the office trying to lure some pedo from West Virginia to show up at a park. I won't knock those other enforcement activities, but it shouldn't be an either-or proposition. Our "leaders" should hire more people or bring them in and get the job done, or file the retirement paperwork and admit they're not up to the job anymore, assuming they ever were.
