Louisville reaches 100 homicides after man found shot in vacant...

""When we look at all these crime numbers we have to keep in mind that opioids, especially as it relates to homicides, we feel like are at the root of a lot of these issues," Fischer said."

He's close. The Mexican Sinaloa cartel delivers drugs directly to street gangs in most American cities now because the federal government completely failed to do its job in 2009-2016. The gangs used to have hierarchies that enforced peace and got the dope to the little gang cliques. Now they're buying direct from Sinaloa, the local trailer trash "Breaking Bad" types and a few independents.

Other cities like Indianapolis have been busy making mass arrests of the gang members and arresting the local cartel cell people. Here you have people arresting a 2 or 3 people at a time. KSP occasionally arrests a drug mule driving a load through Kentucky. This state and this city has no leadership. It's a bunch of people collecting their easy paychecks waiting for their pension. Start playing the music and replacing these useless bookends until someone starts getting some results. We can't ROD our way out of this problem.

This is for Riley, Boel, Angela Leet or anyone else interested in why it's hard to recruit and keep good officers and why police morale is low.

1. Starting pay for an LMPD recruit in 2003: $31,774. Current LMPD recruit salary: $34,326. An increase of 8%.

2. Amount that the LMPD recruit salary would be in 2017 if it kept up with inflation: $41,994. An increase of 32%

3. Starting recruit pay for the Lexington Police Department: $38,688, or 13% higher than for LMPD recruits.

4. Pay for the LMPD police chief in 2003: $110,292. Current pay for the chief: $193,514, including base pay and incentive allowance. An increase of 75%

Place your bets fellas...

First five comments posted in the first 30 minutes by the same lonely, tortured soul. I'm really starting to feel a sense of pity. Perhaps they should come down to Coffee with a Cop for conversation, fun and fellowship. The Christmas season can take a terrible toll on some individuals.

In case anyone's wondering why LMPD might need more officers to patrol and detectives to work cases, crime victims families can explain. Running from shooting to shooting leaves too little time for bringing closure to cases. Detectives working 20 hour days aren't going to be very sharp at work. The administration can ignore the officers and FOP, but they can't ignore the end results of their mistaken decisions.

Hanging up on the reporter is always a good idea. They may just decide you're honest and it wasn't an inside job. Anything is possible in Possibility City.

This is why I avoid anything connected to Louisville Metro in my personal matters. No matter what it is, it's just doomed to fail or involve some degree of misery or crookedness. Having a separate credit union for LMPD is unnecessary when there are a hundred better alternatives to choose from.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD said a "theft-related incident" happened at the Louisville Metro Police Officers Credit Union on Market Street in downtown Louisville. Police aren't releasing details, but no one has been arrested.

An employee at the Credit Union hung up when we tried to ask questions about the alleged theft, only saying that a press release will be issued in the near future.

Teenager murdered in abandoned house in Shelby Park http://www.wdrb.com/story/36973821/teenager-found-shot-and-killed-in-shelby-park-identified

This 2016 Courier story spreading Fischerite compassion-propaganda didn't age well: "in recent years, business owners and residents who recognize the compassion and energy in Shelby Park have started a grassroots movement to bring more positive attention to the diverse community. The efforts, so far, have worked: Crime is on the decline, vacant buildings are being filled and the entire neighborhood is experiencing a new sense of pride." https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2016/02/18/shelby-park-reducing-crime-through-compassion/80400434/

Smoke and mirrors takes a long time to do in a convincing manner. At least the voters will have a chance to render their own verdict on this 3 ring circus of a city next year.

If any of it was legit, they'd have already gotten at least 1 state indictment for perjury.

State and federal authorities are investigating suspected theft at the $28.7 million Louisville Metro Police Officers Credit Union, according to police and the Kentucky state regulator. "The Louisville Metro Police Officers Credit Union reported a suspected theft to law enforcement officials and the (Kentucky) Department of Financial Institutions," DFI spokeswoman Elizabeth Goss Kuhn, said in a prepared statement. "DFI is conducting an examination of the credit union, and as part of that process, will examine the reported theft.

Cole McCollum, an AVP and compliance officer for the credit union, declined comment. He also would not comment on a local media report that a credit union vice president had been suspended and that the alleged theft report involved a number of fake loans that were allegedly made in police officers' names.

The 1st division CO's are out there rousting the homeless camp. They do a much better job of that than rousting the gangs in their division. A good man always knows his limitations.

Despite this being an obvious bad shooting, you don't see Black Lives Matter on the streets about this shooting and don't see any federal civil rights case being brought. The jury must have been selected from a pool of lobotomy patients.

The new 21st century police tactics of cowardice, where everyone is too afraid and too inept at hand-to-hand to approach a suspect and put their hands on, leads to many bad or controversial shootings. Its somehow better to yell and point your weapon instead of grabbing them. Today everyone's supposed to police like only the 4'8" 90 lb women used to do.

Millennials in law enforcement will probably never get the proper training on how to be a real cop because of all the ignorant lawyers and fearful Chiefs.

Here's yet another instance of the Chief crying wolf and pointing fingers at one of his many faux reasons for crime being high in Louisville. He fails to ever say what link state auction guns have to any crimes in Louisville. He failed to do so because they've never been used in Louisville's homicides. The man never runs out of bulls--t to spew on TV.

Except for a few undercover reports by John Boel, Wave 3 runs nothing but puff pieces on Conrad and Fischer.

The title of the story vs parts of the actual story. The author is wrong IMO.. With increased violence there should be increased STOPS! This data is collected not just "traffic stops".. if an occupied car is sitting behind a closed business at 2am, these #'s reflect that also. Hell per policy if stop to help a standed mortorist you were supposed to fill out a stop report. You can help what race the person is who is stranded....

Why do patrol officers get written up for cussing alone in patrol cars or while they are pointing a gun at dangerous suspects during "spot inspections", but Major case detectives (officers) can cuss all they want interrogating suspects ON VIDEO thats juries, media and courts see... Seems like a double standard and unequal enforcing of policies. Hummmmm two different standards for same FOP members.....
