An article said last summer that U of L's payments are $4 million per year. They've only paid off $8 million out of the $350 million in principal because nearly all of the previous payments just went to pay interest. Metro is already paying $10 million per year.

Metro could just take the Yum Center completely over for the low, low price of $14 million per year if U of L defaults. It would make a fine LMPD HQ building. HQ people could work from the upper deck seats and the corporate suites and leave the lower decks seats for high school sports, the circus, conventions, motivational speakers and a televangelist megachurch on national cable TV on Sundays.
