The jail will never change until some newly elected politicians take over and are willing to commit a lot more money to it. They don't want to build one big enough to hold everyone. Corrections delays the intake process to use police as free guard labor. They don't have enough people or cells to do their jobs efficiently and never have. There's really no point to taking people to jail if they're going to be out in a few days. The state should let officers cite for felonies and do mobile booking
