Fischer's done his best to spin away any blame from Conrad. Flaherty will take all of the blame for command, which is why he's gone. Harper's story about the chief knowing about the molestation in 2013 is being spun off as the complaints of a disgruntled demotee. Their buddies in the media made sure to make the headlines about him being demoted. They Mayor flatly denied knowing anything about the Explorer allegations until the media reported on it. The liberal Democrats running the media in this city are doing their best to make sure the Mayor comes out smelling like a rose. They don't even blame the Mayor or chief at all for the increase in murders, much less the Explorer case, the Miami rapist, the rape kits they were too cheap to process or the other scandals.

It's really all about who has the power and who can benefit who by staying in charge. It's very easy for a Mayor or Chief to control the outcomes when nobody from the outside is seriously looking at them. They've all bet huge on that assumption. What could possibly go wrong?
