The court of public opinion will be much harsher than the investigations. You don't see very many police departments having ex-officer accused pedophiles and rapists being tried during their Mayor's re-election year. These crimes and the increase in murders have all happened on the Mayor's watch. His opponent can reasonably say that a bad strategy and bad judgement in choosing LMPD's leaders are partially to blame.

Totally amazing coincidence how 2 of the 3 investigators working for Flaherty on the explorer case in 2013 end up on the Mayor's protection detail. It doesn't get any easier than this to prove collusion is occurring.

"The three officers at the 2013 interview, which occurred in the family's home, were former integrity unit Sgts. Jacqueline Smith and John Polin and Officer Julie Schmidt, who was an adviser in the Explorer program. Smith and Polin, who now works in Mayor Greg Fischer's security detail, said they didn't record the interview. Smith told investigators last year that she probably took notes on the interview but couldn't locate them"
