The DEA has charged a few drug dealers in LMPD cases with a federal crime covering fentanyl ODs. I have heard of no state homicide charges being sought. Those getting charged federally might actually do serious time, but they aren't able to keep up with a volume like 180 cases in a year in 1 city. They don't have enough people here.
