It accurately describes this department. Every police department should of course do a good job of investigating and hopefully preventing criminal acts among their own. Every police department should ALSO do a good job of investigating and preventing criminal acts among the public, especially those resulting in over 120 murders each year and several hundred overdose deaths.

This department is so narrowly focused on the issues important to aloof rich Highlands liberals, that it's short changing the rest of its mission. Other major cities across America have very active counterdrug and countergang enforcement, including most of those run by Democrat administrations. They also have very active and very visible arrests by FBI Safe Streets Task Forces, ATF Violent Crime Impact Teams, and DEA task forces. Louisville has empty words. The closest thing here to a gang unit is a glorified west end Flex unit, employing the newest detectives on the department, who must wear uniforms because patrol is so short staffed.

Don't think the pretenses to piety among this administration are fooling the majority of citizens here. The vast majority of people are much more worried about violent crime and drugs than the relatively small numbers of corrupt police.
