Police say passerby may have saved life of LMPD officer attacked by homeless man

Let them lie in the report if they like. It would only mean more character witnesses for the various lawsuits and probably another lawsuit if they try to take disciplinary action. Why tell the Mayor it was fully approved and within policy when you can simply dig a deeper hole? It's the LMPD way.
