You nailed it spot on. This chief and his current staff of majors and colonels never really were the police and are too scared to let people be the police. They have no respect for the officers riding the beats and don't care about anything other than keeping their jobs under this chief. None of them will speak up or defend anyone who did the right thing if it means making the chief mad. They are pushing for a return to 8 hour days because it will give some more bodies on the beat for extended days in a row. All to cover for the understaffed department and to help eliminate the massive overtime being spent that can't be sustained. Another change is coming people and flat out disrespect to the officers doing the job. 6 days on and 2 days off will be tough, but if it makes them look good because of it that is all they care about.
