There are people ****** best suited to administrative desk jobs and people better suited to patrol or investigations. I've rarely seen anyone good at leading in all 3 areas. The people who know paperwork are horrible at patrol and the people good at cutting crime in a division or catching murderers aren't usually going to last in an administrative job due to the tedium. There should be 3 career tracks, and officers should be paid equivalent to Sgt's pay for advanced levels of skill as Detectives
