Homicide is stuck doing the job they normally do. They aren't a gang unit. Organized crime related murders can't be solved through traditional homicide investigations alone. They should hire a consultant like the guy who wrote that gang article. The type of policing the Chief talks about at community meetings has little to do with what's required to reduce gang homicides. That requires the entire system to fall like a sledgehammer on the violent gangs and other violent criminals. This means frequent raids and mass roundups, PFO charges, consecutive sentences, federal court referrals, referral for probation and parole violations and zero tolerance policing for violent criminals. You turn enough people into informants to take down the gangs and don't burn them ever. You use parallel construction to avoid burning witnesses. Defense attorneys do everything in their power to get witnesses identified, which means they will probably die in a case against a violent gang.

Once the criminal element realizes that violence is the shortest path to prison, not profit, then their successors will learn to keep their gun in their pants. Until somebody finds a way to convince 20% of the population to stop snorting and smoking that ****, order's the best we can hope for.

I am sure her heart is in the right place but today was a joke. one minute it's all "we can't catch anyone because no one will speak up" and then it's "we stop this by being a good person because you will get caught"

Come again?

Just be a good person! Why didn't we think of that before?

It's almost like watching Jennifer Lawrence. Her acting abilities are really too good to be working here. She could be a star.

I'm pretty sure the people out there shooting people are long past the point of having qualms about who they kill. Their brains are fried from doing drugs since they were in middle school, and after the first few murders they quit counting.

This video shows the kind of speech the people of Louisville need to see in response to these homicides. People have lost confidence in the police and nobody provides information on crimes to those they don't at least respect.
