Louisville's not affected by that. LMPD and the jail notify the federal government about anyone arrested who has a warrant or immigration detainer. That's the minimum required. Some other cities get an immigration enforcement certification that lets them do more, but that's purely optional. It will be interesting to watch the fireworks. Cities need federal money. Federal law enforcement can't do a whole lot without either local assistance or a lot more people and jails than they have today.
