Kelly Jones has been a rumored name for several years. Those close to him say he does not believe he can beat the Aubrey name on the ballot. I think he has the money and networking ready to go. He would do a hell of a job. I am sure he has enemies but the guy is solid and would get that place up righted and I guarantee they would support LMPD more with him at the helm.
