The good news is that after the Presidential inauguration, the DEA and DHS will finally be allowed to do their jobs again. The task forces started by Conrad and his counterparts appointed by the Obama administration haven't made a dent in the homicide rate in Louisville. The new head of DHS knows a lot more about the drug problem and its causes than those who preceded him. He's a retired Marine general who led the US Southern Command, which includes Mexico. A stark contrast to people with their head stuck in community policing books from the 1990s.

violence interrupters

there are probably 500-600 real violence interrupters already on the payroll, they are called the POLICE. Conrad is so busy policing the police, they can't do their job . when you have to write a letter or get a days pay for saying a cussword during a heated encounter, I can see why police are reluctant to do their job .
