The new plan for the surplus is poorly thought out, if not lies.

The planned overtime is equivalent to adding 22 FTEs when they need 200 FTEs right now.

Why do they need $75,000 for a new task force? There are already several existing task forces for violent crimes and gun crimes. Where will the extra bodies come from?

$650,000 for a new "safe and healthy neighborhoods office? They've already got those people on the payroll and they've done nothing to decrease crime.

Violence interrupters? That "don't be like me" thing might work with young kids who visit inmates in jails, but it won't work for hardened gang members on the street. They will need officers guarding them to avoid getting hurt by the wayward youth they want to save.

$700,000 for 28 officers, which will pay for their first 3 months of employment.

$110,000 for a new "Chief Equity Officer" whatever that is, eventually rising to $230,000 per year.

Every time I think they can't get any worse, they prove me wrong.
