Might as well adjust to the changing times. The public is demanding more and more from its police officers. They (the public) are not interested in you fighting crime. They want you to guard them while they enjoy their daily lives. They don't care that you caught a murderer because they believe most people brought murder upon themselves. They don't care that you are getting heroin off the streets because they believe heroin is not their problem. I myself am beginning to develop these same views in life. It has made me a better thinking officer. I will no longer attempt to fix stupidity when I make a run. No more of the social work and counseling. I will do what I need to do to enforce the law and then move on. People need to fix their own lives unless they are the true victim of a crime.
