Judge orders LMPD officer to testify about controversial Facebook posts

The Mayor will probably have much stiffer competition in 2018 in the primary if a particular person decides to run. That is the only possible bright spot on the horizon for Metro. This administration isn't ever going to change its ways. They must be replaced.

The next Sheriff should also consider making them more than just a court services agency, since LMPD lacks the political will to take on the higher risk proactive enforcement activities necessary to reduce major crime. "Operation Trust" and all the other made-up bandaids have falled by the wayside. Milquetoast political appointments and retired-on-duty types aren't up to the job of stopping gangs or other hard core criminals. A tough Sheriff could take a lot of the politics out of the problem.

I used to always see police cars driving around pre-merger in the city and county... Always saw cops doing stops... I rarely see a cop car anymore and dony see much enforcement except for highways.
