Not by my vote! Just look at the University of Louisville scandal with President Ramsey. David James resigns his position as an appointed Major with the UofL Police Dept due to a conflict of interest due to be being an elected council member. David, after a lengthy delayed resignation from the UofL police PD, has a position opened to him (made up position) through President Ramsey which pays more than his position as a UofL police officer, which he accepts in lieu of giving up his council seat. Politics; you scratch my back and I'll clearly scratch yours!!!!

Typical: Politicians always get taken care of.

David James used to be the token for whites who saw in him the potential for being Louisville's first black mayor. He practiced for years how to sound white, he married white, and he even pretended to think like a white Conservative. He fell from grace when he failed to cast an impeachment vote against the corrupt black lady Barbara Shanklin. That's a big no-no David...white people get very nervous at the first suspicion you are "taking care of your own". So game over for you! You can go back to listening to rap music again.

I am going to take issue with your statements about David. I have known him for 20 years, and served with him as an officer, which very few of our agency can actually say. He was one of the finest street level investigators I served with. As a Narcotics detective he did a solid job, made good arrest, and fine cases. I am close with several of our current crop of narcotics officers, but to be honest they, and the departments command, could learn a lot from folks like David James, Bob O'neil, J.T. Thomas, Rod Seelye or any of another dozen good detectives from the past.

David is no doubt now a politician. He may make political decisions that you, or I, do not like, but do not dishonor his service as a police officer. He did a fine job with LPD, and managed to come out with his name and honor intact.
