Those who were on LPD in the 1990s may recall how homicides too a nosedive when the department got aggressive during the Sherrard and Smith years. Now that the department has gone back to doing reactive investigations only, crime has gone back up. I'd like to believe the other agencies might step up to fill in the gap but obviously not so far.
