or the victim recanted.... or the victim or suspect died.... or the victim was no where to be found... the lab is sooooooooo backed up because of low staff and low pay det. make decisions every day NOT TO WASTE THE LABS TIME..... Hell for the last 5 plus years Homicide may have 30 or 100 pieces of evidence collected from a scene but have to pick the 10 most important ones because 10 items of evidence is the max they can send. Louisville needs to fund its own real crime lab with Dna etc...
