LMPD officer who won $450,000 settlement in whistleblower lawsuit again sues the department |
RE: LMPD officer who won $450,000 settlement in whistleblower...
Speaking of gangs, the department's non-response is laughable. There are 22 people making over $100,000 a year but "nobody is available." If David James wants some real answers, then he should set up a council meeting with the officers, Detectives and Sgts working the streets.

LOUISVILLE. Ky. -- A Metro Councilman says Louisville is in denial about its gang problem.
District 6 Democrat David James says Louisville's drug problems can be connected to gang activity. The former member of the old Louisville Police Department says despite police calling those involved in the drug trade "an organization", he says they are gangs. James says it will take a large scale takedown to break up the gangs as opposed to individual arrests.
He says however it is done it won't be an overnight fix, citing the need to get intel on the gangs and find their leaders.
James made his remarks while speaking with Tony Cruise and the Morning Team on NewsRadio 840 WHAS Friday morning.
An LMPD spokeswoman says there is no one available to comment on the councilman's remarks.
