Young people today look at jobs like this as jobs not careers. This is an interesting stop along the way to something better. The state's decision to do away with retirement and the way this department is run only aggravates that. They should get used to people coming and going. The city's crime problems are no different from other cities. We haven't even gotten the worst of the gang problems or the heroin epidemic seen in nearby areas. Give it a few more years and the community oriented leaders will be asked to vacate the premises so some crimefighters can stop the ship from sinking, once it's too bad to ignore.
