He's supposed to do our "dirty work". He respresents officers and the FOP and officers have no voice 99% of the time unless it's through the FOP. He did a great job and was very articulate and pointed in his remarks. The things in this letter needed to be said and I for one am proud dave had the balls enough to to say them.

This "demand" posted in the C-J proves once and for all that the activists the Chief is speaking with don't really care that people are getting murdered. Any activists who do actually care about their own community more than a radical neo-marxist political agenda and self-promotion in the media should speak out differently unless they want people to stereotype them as being all the same.

8. End over-policing in communities of color

The deployment of officers is based on data, primarily calls for service and crime. 63 percent of murders and 60 percent of the shootings this year have occurred in either the 1st or 2nd Divisions. Our resources should be used where crime is most prevalent. The 1st Division includes the following neighborhoods: Butchertown, Downtown, Phoenix Hill, Portland and Russell. The 2nd Division includes the following neighborhoods: Algonquin, California, Chickasaw, Hallmark, Park Duvalle, Park Hill, Parkland and Shawnee. Also, 62 percent of homicide victims and 53 percent of aggravated assault victims are African Americans. Meanwhile, 68 percent of homicide arrests and 53 percent of aggravated assault arrests are African American. We must continue to deploy officers based on need.
