Anyone who claims to be a public servant and cannot see the divisiveness this letter would cause should NOT be in public service. And I am a proud police officer. Thought you were a lot smarter than than Dave. This is embarrassing and you should gracefully step down.

So 8 local loudmouths can pretend they speak on behalf of the oppressed masses and "negotiate" with the Chief. What about the people who actually pay taxes instead of mooching off the system like most of these people? They obviously don't give a damn about the people who've died in the last year. If anyone's a racist, it's the people who say black people dying doesn't matter, like these protestors. Go to hell. If the city wants to cave in to radicals, then they will have a few thousands officers and thousand of other people who oppose the weak policies enabling this crime surge instead of 100 left wing radical activists who apparently like it.

"Activists met with Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad on Wednesday afternoon to discuss their demands for civilian-led reviews of police shootings and disciplinary action against the FOP president for a controversial letter he authored.

The demonstrators listed nearly a dozen other demands besides Mutchler's termination — such as assigning a special prosecutor in all police shooting cases, dismantling the VIPER unit and speeding up implementation and use of body cameras on officers in western Louisville. The protesters also have called for creating a civilian review board with subpoena powers and screening officers who are involved in shootings for drugs and alcohol at least 48 hours after the incident.

Those who met with Conrad and some of his top commanders included activists who led the march, including organizer Ashley Belcher and those who objected to the tactic of blocking motorists from driving westbound on Jefferson, such as University of Louisville professor Ricky L. Jones. The group of about eight residents also included U of L law professor Cedric Powell, Louisville poet Lance Newman and Carla Wallace with the group Showing Up for Racial Justice.

Other participants who attended, but chose to remain anonymous, said police commanders and activists covered a range of demands, including possible disciplinary action against Mutchler and broader reforms.

Those sources said Conrad agreed to a handful of the demands, but balked at others such as firing Mutchler for his letter. Sources said activists also are encouraging the chief to hold a town hall meeting with the broader community at some point."
