Man killed by police in Old Louisville

There is no "spin." This is America, and English is the spoken language. It's nobody's fault there was a language barrier. The fact is, the man became extremely violent with an intent to do bodily harm, or even cause death. Every person, including a cop, has the right to defend themselves. Yes, it's sad when anyone loses their life. But had he made the choice to remain calm, he'd be alive today. This man had a history of emotional trouble and was headed down a dark road. His fate was in his own hands, not that officer's. Don't criticize a cop until you've walked in their shoes. It would have been the same outcome no matter what color that man was. It could have been clearly avoided if he hadn't chose to attack. It was a violent act that had to be defended. Law enforcement is a brotherhood, and when one of their brothers had his life threatened and was able to go home, yeah, they're happy about that. Nobody wants anybody to die. Again, there's a right choice and a wrong choice. I say, God bless and protect those in blue that put their lives on the line to protect ours.

Apparently you didn't get the memo. Defending a dangerous criminal isn't going to win you any supporters except in prison.

Manyoun had an extensive rap sheet and history of mental illness. And police Monday released new information that he was, indeed, the perpetrator they were seeking Saturday when they responded to a call about an assault on a woman.

A man, later identified as Manyoun, had grabbed a woman’s purse, threw her cell phone, and punched her in the face, police said.

The officer pulled up in his squad car to confront Manyoun as a suspect in the earlier beating of the woman. The two engaged verbally for a moment, and then Manyoun walked away, only to return moments later with the flagpole.

Blanford pulled out his gun as Manyoun charged him with a metal flagpole he grabbed from the facade of the Smoker’s Smoke Shop on Fourth Street. In the store’s video, Manyoun is seen swinging downward “in a sledge hammer type motion” with the pole, striking Blanton’s squad car as the officer moved to get out of the way, Conrad said at a press conference.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or are just that stupid. Leaning toward the latter.
