Police chief to shake up patrol officers' shifts

I guess the cat is out of the bag? The FOP isn't supposed to be letting this leak out until they can figure out how to address it. Yes, they are looking to cut several SGT slots. They won't actually cut them, they just won't be promoting many when the current SGT retire get promoted ect I thought for sure this would be talked about more before it was pretty much already in the works. Hasn't anyone noticed that they haven't promoted a single SGT off the new list yet. Imo this is well overdue we've had too many chiefs and not enough Indians for way too long

By the same logic, they should merge half of the divisions with the other half, and cut all Lt's and Majors by half. What passes for leadership here is as simple simon as a department can get. They ignore what the rest of the country is doing and go back to 8 hour shifts "to save manpower and money" but nobody else in the ENTIRE COUNTRY except their fly by night consultant actually believes 8 hour shifts do anything but drive up OT and fatigue.
