Because, right or wrong the public is demanding body cameras. The public isn't demanding what shifts we work. I'm not a big Union Guy, but it's been determined working conditions must be negotiated in good faith. You see the writing on the wall, the majority of officers are leaning to 12's...So now your only help is the Chief comes in, and makes a decision. Your only hope is he chooses 8's. If the majority where leaning towards 8's, you wouldn't be calling for the Chief to step up and make a decision.

I'm sick of police officers claiming to be conservative then whining about body cameras. A large segment of our jobs is to uphold the and protect Constitution, not look for loop holes. I'm all for transparency of the government even the police. As a true conservative I think the public has a right to know. Same thing goes for the executive office they should wear the body cam as well. Then again, I know a lot of you guys are truly liberals that just like to claim to be conservative. Anything you do in official capacity is open record and deserving of 100% transparency. This isn't Mexico or China we the people have a right to know. I believe in liberty and freedom for everyone. It's what this country was founded on. Maybe some of you need a history lesson

The Chief should explain why he would accept a recommendation contradicting many studies on what the ideal and most efficient shift is. One consultant does not cancel out the opposite findings of the National Institute of Justice and the Police Foundation. This guy was out on a limb and only LMPD seems to believe him. It raises the suspicion that he simply offered the answer desired by those paying him.

The department is subject to union negotiations. Welcome to the real world. Your rank is not military rank, but civilian police department rank. You could always go down to the recruiting station if thats not to your liking.

Uhhhhhh....the Chief can't mandate 12's....unless he wants to pay us all overtime everyday just to come to work. If he wants it he needs us to vote it in. Go back to your desk, you silly twit.
