Police chief to shake up patrol officers' shifts

I worked 6/2 in the old 4th/new 2nd on latewatch. It was not much fun and I did not have kids then. 1st day off was all rest, 2nd day off was all rest getting ready to go back to work. 10s/12s have 52 more days off a year-you use less v-time, etc. plus you are already at work what's an extra 2 more hours-bets getting dressed an extra day & going in.

I can't believe Command is so deceptive as to make this a fight over work hours instead of being up front about wanting to cut the number of officers on the street during peak hours. The Mayor must have told them to forget hiring more. They need that money to guard the dozens of special events and rich people Derby parties. Sorry west end, but you will just have to accept seeing more and more people get murdered. This department isn't going to do anything about it.
