Man....you can't expect the media or the public to be concerned with due process or factual based investigations. That doesn't further their agenda of further demonizing the police and fanning the flames under the guise of social justice. It'll be a whole lot easier for them to continue to slash benefits, reduce pay and lessen the hiring standards in order to achieve the ultimate goal of gentrification.

I call BS. Finish the investigation. If the former employee doesn't want to give a statement then so be it. Go with the facts at hand close the investigation make it part of the record so some unsuspecting department doesn't hire this person. Ethics anyone? Oh I'm under investigation? Oh I think it's a good time to resign or retire. It is exactly what it appears to be.
