LMPD officers under investigation can get fresh start with resignation

Nobody is talking about charges, these are not criminal investigations. These are only internal administrative investigations which relate to policy violations. If an employee resigns/retires before being able to give his account of what happened, it would be very difficult for the department to reach a fair and accurate conclusion into the matter. It would only serve to discredit an employee's reputation, without knowing all the facts.
