The Sheriff is 100 years old & needs to retire. I wonder why all the juice about his Chief Deputy Hettich's suicide has not came out yet? This needs to be brought to the public.

This about sums it all up. Powerful, moving and unfortunately, far from surprising.

Hose slashing suspect charged in Baltimore

Police charged Greg Bailey (22) after determining he was the suspect responsible for intentionally damaging a charged water supply fire hose during active fire suppression operations at the CVS store location at 2509 Pennsylvania Avenue on Monday, April 27, 2015.

The action of puncturing the hose line caused an immediate drop in water pressure and endangered the lives of fire service personnel at the scene who were forced to withdraw and immediately reestablish a secondary water supply source.

Bailey was already being detained at the Baltimore City Detention Center on unrelated charges. An arrest warrant was served to him today while waiting on bond review before the Court Commissioner. He was charged with: Obstructing Firefighting Operations, Malicious Destruction of Property and Reckless Endangerment.

The use of social media is credited with assisting investigators when an alert Baltimore City Police officer recognized the suspects’ picture and contacted the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Derby security not such a glowing success after all. Too many traffic cops, not enough street level enforcement. This may be the first serial armed robber in history to have committed a justifiable homicide a few months before his robbery spree. That case should obviously be reinvestigated.

Late Kentucky Derby night the 49-year-old was stopped in his tracks. According to Louisville Metro Police, Hunter and his best friend from Canada were walking along Phillips Lane back to their hotel, the Rodeway Inn, when they became the last of about a dozen victims of a robbery spree.

Police have arrested 20-year-old Fatima Abu-Diab, 18-year-old Fahed Abu-Diab, and 19-year-old Tyrone Thomas. The Abu-Diab siblings are accused of 12 counts of robbery and one of murder. Thomas, Fatima Abu Diab's boyfriend is accused of complicity to all of those crimes. According to investigators on Oaks and Derby nights, the three were robbing people around the hotels and apartments near Phillips Lane and the airport area.

Fahed Abu-Diab, was involved in the February death of Western High School Student Anthony Smith junior – a shooting that was ruled justifiable. The three are due in court Tuesday.
