LMPD Chief Forms New Task Force to Address Spike in Homicides in the Metro

If the division is below safe manning levels then they could take people off of desks and put them on the street, including Lt's, and the Major. The Chief should be pushing all CO's to work the street during the peak hours on their more active beats. Most big departments in high crime cities expect patrol CO's on the street much or most of the time. Sitting at a desk sending emails isn't considered leading there. The fat of the department can be put to productive use if the Chief has the will to leave LMPD better than he found it. The feds he had on stage can help with investigations but they aren't going to teach a force of 1100 how to police the streets and deal with run of the mill violent street crime. Thats not what they do for a living.
