What a joke! Should the Chief of Police ask parents to be more involved in their kids lives? If you're the parent that the chief is speaking to, does his request cause you to bat an eye.....F No!

For the record violent crime isn't up, the number of shootings is about on par with recent years, the only difference is that the victims are dying.

SOS! When you don't have a clue what to do as it always has been with this dept, hire some new administrator at a giant salary, make a new task force, get the west ends input or throw a sh!t load of money at it and hope it goes away. This dept is becoming a bigger joke everyday.

What about Operation Llama? It could easily happen here and there is no contingency plan.

What lmpd needs to do is sit back let them commit the crimes then make arrests at a later date that way no one is offended

It's not going to get better either. This department is still running operation hug a thug. This department is more interested in going after an officer that cursed someone they were fighting with, than a drug dealer or a car thief. Body cams will just make it worse.

I think it's hilarious...with all the talk about violating rights, stop and frisk, Furgeson, etc...Now they want the police to do more to combat rising violent crime? Once the body cams get here, Police will be less aggressive when they should be more aggressive; and then won't cut breaks when breaks should be cut...Teenagers being caught with beer.

Fischer said people who fail to shovel sidewalks could be cited. They are supposed to clear TARC stops for free or else get a ticket. LMPD is to go cite the 200,000 homeowners who will be ignoring their sidewalks tomorrow.

City buildings will be open in a foot of snow. No snow emergency has been declared, since that would make at least 5 or 6 business owners mad and he can't take that kind of heat. People will be driving into each other trying to get to work or to make a court appearance. Obviously the entire Executive Command Staff needs to be overhauled. Leadership is much more than a title and making 120K a year. Citizens are expecting results, and the executive staff need to step up to the plate and get out of their offices. Initiating another task force is not the answer.
