There is nothing unprofessional about announcing snow closures on the news. its a common practice followed by society at large. The public also needs to know so they aren't trying to get to court when they shoud be staying off the roads. That can and will lead to accidents.

The court staff should also call the CL so the department can be notified, but unless its in a policy somewhere, then don't count on it.
