I wonder how quickly the importance of the list would be set aside if one of those officers where to be the only eye witness to a murder. My guess is suddenly it won't matter that much. I have seen prosecutors use convicted felons on the stand as witnesses and still get successful convictions. The whole concept of "The List" seems too gossipie anyway. (And no, I'm not on "The List".)

Within the department itself, the "Brady List" has very little value or importance among the officers. We all know of individuals who should be on that list (in theory only), but their stuff was swept under the rug. Internal investigations and disciplinary action have always been applied very arbitrarily on LMPD. It's all about who you know and if they like you or not, and other various reasons.
