They usually do extensive market research before actually producing a concept product (especially cars) to guage its consumer demand. I realize it may not be everybody's taste, but I think that gun ROCKS!! Sure, it is kind of gimmicky, but it is also functional. I would buy one....

Did you go to the SHOT show to try it out?

A loaded M4 weighs under 9lbs and loaded Glock weighs under 2lbs, making them about 11lbs together. That's 1 pound more than a loaded M14. That might be too heavy for a small woman or out of shape man, but not for people who may see some half second advantage to attaching it there. That's not going to be the typical uniformed police, deputy or security guard.

The M4/AR-15 is not modern technology anyhow. Government agencies buy them because they're "good enough" to the people controlling the purchasing, who are mostly impressed by the low price and long standing use by their people. These kinds of upgrades can make them more functional, but if you ever plan on getting into a firefight with one, I would spend an extra thousand or 2 on an HK416 to avoid the M4's misfire, jamming and heat issues. It will of course seem extravagant, and your trusty Glock and shotgun may be all you need, unless you run into 2 or 3 camelhumping jihadis with rifles like in Paris recently.

Since our clothing/equipment allowances are taxed before we get them, we can deduct uniform expenses on our taxes right? I've heard officers have deducted haircuts, that doesn't seem legit. Or what about personal cellphones?
