Louisville football player arrested, charged with assault of a police officer

That attitude toward assaults on police officers is why some get the message that it's ok to assault the police. It's a felony for a reason and should be treated as such. Assaulting a police officer, however minor, is never ok.

2. You have absolutely no first hand knowlege of the arrest.

Well sounds like your problem is with the Kentucky Revised Statues. Any assault or attempted assault on an officer is assault 3 (felony). It probably will be amended down by prosecutors. Police officers charged based on the way it is written, not how it will play out in court.
