Financial success isn't the real measure of success in life. There are good poor people who'll help out people poorer than themselves, and rich people who molest children or kill their spouse. Companies spend billions of dollars to convince poor people they "need" whatever they're selling. Those companies are mostly owned by the rich, who are a lot of the same people whining about poor people buying things. That's called irony.
