Correct, the department should be downsized to nothing but traffic, meter maids, and special events guards. Everyone can get concealed carry. Policing is an anachronistic throwback to a bygone era.

With the absence of a real retirement plan, beginning about a year ago, there is no longer a reason to consider this career as a long term investment. Once reality sets in for the newer officers, they will want to leave as quickly as possible.

Why are you begging others to "get" your message? Eventually, everyone realizes you are so right. I'm sure you were also the type who once looked down on others for not being proactive too. Now, you get it. Others will come around sooner or later——just patiently wait and you'll see.
